AFRICA HEALTH RESEARCH TRAINING PROGRAMME
Our vision is to build a transformative programme that nurtures a new generation of diverse world-class researchers who will address existing and emerging global health challenges, working across professional and research disciplines, with equity as a core value
This PhD programme will provide interdisciplinary PhD training in global health to 50 PhD fellows.
The CREATE PhD Programme will recruit 25 outstanding UK health professionals, funded by the Wellcome Trust and supported by partner institutions in the UK and Africa. The programme will also train a matched cohort of exceptional 25 African early career researchers, creating a blended cohort of South-North fellows. African fellowships are funded by a variety of external funders as well as supported through local partnerships.
This unique group of 50 PhD fellows will benefit from sharing of knowledge, ideas and training opportunities, building a mutually supportive community of fellows.
